From archive to online exhibition in nine steps...

This website is being developed as a part of the European e-learning project PHOTHEREL (PHOTographic HERitage ELearning). You can find out more about this project and its partners via the PHOTHEREL portal.

The PHOTHEREL project focuses on providing solutions for endangered photographic heritage through digitization. This site contains a linear step-by-step guide for everybody who wants to open up a photographic archive by means of digitization.

The use of this step-by-step is illustrated by two pilot projects.

An extensive overview of electronic resources on conservation, restoration and digitization of (photographic) heritage, you can find through the Photherel portal.

Dictionaries of technical terms regarding the digitization of photograps, can be found at the websites of TASI and the Cornwell University Library.
