About the project
PHOTHEREL (PHOTographic HERitage ELearning) is a European e-learning project that aims to develop a common reflection and practice in the dissemination of photographic heritage by means of digitization.
Four partners work closely together on the development of PHOTHEREL. These project partners have written down their basic assumptions and starting points for this project in a charter.
The project focuses on the development of this portal site that will offer the end user a tool for a "justified" digitization of photographic collections (The step-by-step guide for digitization of photographic heritage) and a survey of current literature and projects in the field of the digitization of photographic heritage.
Specific attention is also paid to providing answers to problems concerning the interpretation of the complex information structure of visual media (Notes on Photo Analysis).
The project started in November 2004 and finished at the end of October 2005.
